Agriculture is one of the most promising industries in Russia. Foreign manufacturers of agricultural machinery as well as the Russian agricultural machinery manufacturers see the current situation not in the general trend. Agricultural machinery manufacturers are optimistic for the future of the market as the worldwide trend is to extend farmland and land for energy plant production. The coming decades will process a further need in more and efficient agricultural mechanisation.

Russia can make use of more tillage then in sum all European Union countries. Russia has 9 % of the world tillage, but the country has still a way to go until farms are satisfactorily mechanised. The Russian government has taken several steps to increase the quality of life in rural areas. As a part of the government programmes, agricultural enterprises are being supported in financing agricultural machinery. The Russian market has an enormous potential for usage of agricultural machinery also regarding the growing need of cultivation of biomass plants. 

AGROSALON had been initiated by the Russian Union of Manufacturers of Agricultural Machinery "SoyuzAgroMash". The Federal Russian Ministries for this industry support the exhibition AGROSALON.
In 2008, more than 21,000 specialists from agricultural and industry enterprises as well as students and young scientists visited AGROSALON during its 4 days of duration.
