Belarus has chosen the way of an evolutionary reformation of his economy and has laid the creation of a social-oriented market economy of his developing strategy. The measures taken during the last years have enabled to let arise a stable economic location in the country. The real economic sector has continuously developed. The inflation rate has substantially decreased during the last three years, the rouble course remains in the agreed frame, there are positive developments in the agrarian sector, with high tempo there rises the life level of the population.

Belarus was and is traditional location for agriculture. With the preceding European integration Belarus is placed in direct neighbourhood of the European Union and therefore it is very interesting also on its account of his relatively favourable energy costs and labour costs for farming and food industry. The government has hedged the financing of the purchase programme of agriculture technique at the turn of the year ? to agricultural producers 1.530 combines, 1.480 tractors, 1.700 trucks and 278 chopper-harvester shall be delivered.

BELAGRO is an annual international specialised exhibition of machines, equipment and technologies for the production, processing, transport and storage of agricultural products. It is the only fair for farmers and therefore the most famous professional events of this kind in Belarus and has developed to a leading fair in the Eastern European edge area of the EU and in immediate neighbourhood to the important countries Russia and Ukraine. Here all areas of the agriculture are represented, from soil tillage up to harvest technology, from animal breeding to stable technology, concentrate as well as meat processing and milk processing. This year BELAGRO offers the 2nd times in succession an additional exhibition on the field. Here one can see the extensive agricultural engineering in the practical application and the latest models can be shown.
